Northern Arizona University’s research is nationally recognized and locally vital, impacting both Arizona’s economy and quality of life. Our research addresses national needs and priorities while also supporting the underserved populations in our region by increasing access to healthcare, quality education and social support services.
NAU as a whole generates more than $2 billion annually for the Arizona economy, and NAU activities support more than 22,000 jobs in Arizona every year, as the university employs faculty and staff, purchases services and supplies, and prepares students to enter the workforce.
Our researchers and research centers actively collaborate with state and community agencies, foundations, nonprofit organizations and initiatives, and a host of other partners to carry out their missions.
